NeeCee AKA Locs_of_fire 

Professionally known as JaNyce Whiteside or “NeeCee”

Born January 25, 1970 in Jacksonville, FL.

Raised predominantly in Washington, DC, NeeCee has been writing since age nine.  She has just published her first book of poetry, entitled “The Psalms of NeeCee” (Outskirtspress.com.)  She has performed in various venues’ in Jacksonville as well as on stages in Washington, D.C.  She was the “Resident Poet” for a while, at the Black Top Block Party, behind the Blue Cross Blue Shield building, she also performed for the “Pull Your Pants Up Rally” at Ribault High school .  Her love for spoken word is ideal to her because she loves to “speak her mind” and tell a story (a true story).  She is currently   working on her sophomore book, to be out soon.
